The No.1 Health differs from previous initiatives to improve quality in that they examine not only the external aspects - such as transparency and clarity - but also specific requirements for the content represents. A core requirement is that authors of a good health information not based on any sources, but to ensure that the statements are based on the current state of knowledge. "It is not usually on their own to rely on one expert testimony," says Klemperer.
Another key message is that health information should not be a tool for people to press on certain decisions. Rather, the information should be prepared so that they help the healthy and ill to make their own informed decision. "We want the autonomy of the people is taken seriously," says Hardy Müller, Chairman of the Department of patient information and participation in DNEbM.
The best practice health information is so far a position paper in which the authors and signatories to it but not want to leave. Müller: "We demand a guideline for the creation of evidence-based health information and are working on a checklist, with the information in the media and the Internet can be measured easily and reliably."
